"The Last Stop"

As Cable was going into the funeral home as a first year college student, he was not really sure what to expect of it. As he walked up to the funeral home, he described different characteristics about the building that got his nerves up. He made the inside of the home feel gloomy, cold, and uncomfortable while he waited in the reception room. During the trip through the funeral home, he realized that he shared different beliefs about death, embalming process and other things than the funeral director. As the tour went on, he changed his perspective a bit. He realized that death is a beautiful thing. The casket allows the family to feel safe about their loved one. At the end of the experience, he realized that society should talk about death and celebrate it because it is an uncontrollable aspect of life.

Cable’s feelings toward the funeral home definitely changed during the tour and it gave him a new perspective on life. Cable expressed a perfect example of a funeral home from the cold, gloomy settings to the embalmment room. He made the experience seem terrible from the beginning and ended up having a new outlook on life and death.
