Self as a Text

When I look at my life, one of the first things that pops into my head is how much I value my friendships. The relationships I have with the people around me are really important to me. Throughout high school I always was willing to hang with a friend instead of studying for a test. If a friend needs advice or anything at all, I always try my hardest to be there for them, even if I have to sacrifice my time and energy. I often can be found eating an early breakfast or enjoying a late night frozen yogurt with friends so we could catch up and spend time together. I think that in all the ways I portray that friendships are important to me, the most important, but not most obvious, way is how I communicate. Weekly phone conversations, daily texts of encouragement and an occasional letter are just a few ways I like to tell friends that I care for them. No one else sees the letters or texts, nor hears the phone conversations, which truly shows my devotion to having genuine friendships because I'm communicating with them because I truly care, not because someone expects me to. By observing how I spend my time and how I communicate, it shows how important my friendships are to me.
