Understanding the "The Last Stop:"

(AP IMAGES/Joe Cavaretta)

Write a paragraph or two about the assumptions, values, and beliefs underlying Cable's observational essay. As you write, explain how the assumptions are reflected in the text, as well as what you think of them now - maybe even include some of your own assumptions.

Then, write several sentences explaining your impressions about Goodbody Mortuaries - support explanation from the reading. Did you think Cable successfully conveyed an impression of the funeral home? How will this essay help you write your own?

  1. He had the assumption that the mortuarie was going to be a cold and dark place with a creepy looking man working on the bodies. What he found was a cozy room with many chapels for services that would comfort the family of the deceased. I would have also thought of them being a cold dark place but after reading this its gives credit to the saying you can't judge a book by its cover. I think Cable did give a good visual of the place and described it fairly it gave me some good ideas of places that i could go for my essay.
