Tv vs. MTV
What stood out to me the most in the article was that advertisements are specific for what show is being played. The last show I watched was Extreme Couponing. Most commercials that I saw were family oriented. There was a Verizon commercial and a Lowe's commercial. There was also commercials about other shows coming up on TLC. I would say these commercials are more aimed towards women because they were all about weddings. One thing I noticed about the show is how consumed with coupons the people are. Finding coupons has become their whole life. Saving all the money gives the people a sense of satisfaction. Like televison, music is very genre oriented and clothing and the setting of the music video is very important. Music also has an underlying message or theme like television.
